Obtaining fingerprints from prospective employees has never been easier or more convenient. Our Fingerprint Zones are strategically located nationwide throughout South Africa - and our locations are continuously expanding.

MIE offers two fingerprint capturing services: A pre-booked appointment service at FPZ locations nationwide, and a walk-in service at selected 3@1 printing shops.

Fingerprint Zone

For registered clients only! To get started, select the “Fingerprint Zone Booking” option on the MIE client portal. The booking system allows you to choose a location, date and time that is most convenient for your candidate. Here’s a step-by-step guide to make a booking at one of MIE’s Fingerprint Zone locations:
  • Select Booking Type
    Choose from Standard, Premium, Priority or Hosted services. Each offers
    different features and pricing that are tailored to meet your needs.
  • Enter Candidate Details
    Provide accurate details of the candidate, including their email and cellphone number. This ensures they receive a confirmation email with all necessary booking information.
  • Choose Date and Location
    Candidates can select their preferred date, time, and location through a link sent via SMS and email, offering them the convenience of scheduling according to their availability.
  • Review and Confirm
    After selecting the available slot, review the booking details. Confirm the booking by agreeing to the terms and conditions outlined in the booking process. A confirmation email will be sent to both you and the candidate with all the relevant details.
  • Cancellation and Changes
    Bookings can be updated or cancelled up to 4 hours before the appointment time. Please note, cancellations close to the booking time may incur charges as per the cancellation policy.

3@1 Walk-in Service

Introducing the newest convenience by MIE at 3@1: our walk-in fingerprint capture service. We’ve made it easier than ever to get candidate fingerprints captured without the hassle of scheduling appointments. Here’s a step-by-step guide to capturing fingerprints at a 3@1 locations:
  • Create online profile
    Log on to the MIE portal, capture ID number, mobile and criminal type request.
  • Receive a reference number
    After this, a reference number is provided to the client and candidate
  • Visit the location
    The candidate can then visit any of the walk-in 3@1 centres across South Africa, meaning the candidate is not bound to a specific date, time or location.
  • Validity
    This booking is only valid for 10 days. If the candidate does not capture their prints in the 10 days the booking will expire.

Are Fingerprint Locations/Facilities MIE branded?

We have partnered with third party companies nationwide, not all locations are branded “MIE”. Clients and candidates must check the booking confirmation email which has the details of the company name for the specific location.

What is the cost of the Fingerprint Zone Check?

All bookings made attract a Non-Refundable ADMIN fee of R75.00 ex vat, you will have the option of an ‘MIE Fingerprint Zone Premium, Priority, Host or Standard check’ which will be charged at your prevailing contract price. The admin fee and contract price may be subject to change. For more information on pricing you can send an inquiry to miesales@mie.co.za.

Can I edit, reschedule and cancel bookings?

Changes to a booking can be made on the online portal up to 4 hours before the date and time of the booking.

Do I get charged for cancelling a booking or when a candidate does not arrive for their booking?

If a booking is cancelled within 4 hours of the date and time of booking it will be charged for in full at the prevailing rate of your ‘MIE Fingerprint Zone check’ and if a candidate does not arrive for their booking the booking will be charged for in full at the prevailing rate.

How will I get results once the booking is completed?

Results are sent via email, the report is also accessible on our screening applications/platforms (ePCV or Smartscreen).

Do Fingerprint Zone locations offer standard operating hours?

Operational operating hours differ across all facilities, working hours are set up at their discretion and the list of available locations may change from time to time. MIE does not guarantee availability of a location.
